Quote of the week.

The only dumb question is the question that you don’t ask.

binary options training Studies show that people who lead happy and successful lives make full use of their talents and strengths. Basic survival or physical comfort alone are usually not enough for a full and satisfying life. Ultimate Self aims to promote success in all areas of life so that we can become fully developed, balanced individuals - our ultimate selves living our ultimate lives. Few people ever see their dreams and ambitions fulfilled. Very few people live life to the fullest or develop their personal potential to its maximum. Some research suggests that the figure is as low as one per cent of the population. Why is that? Some people have no interest in bettering themselves and others remain bogged down by the demands of basic survival and some focus mainly on status or materialism. Others’ personal growth is limited by any number of obstacles - an unhappy childhood, dysfunctional families, illness or disability, or through being beaten down by circumstances or other people. Even our own personality can work against us. It can be hard to find our place in the world and to find and nurture our true and authentic selves. There is much we need to know that we are never formally taught. Most of us learn the hard way, through trial and error or bitter experience. But in every endeavour and activity there is an easy way and a hard way. There are usually certain ways of doing things that increase the chances of success. There is always some trick of the trade, short cut, insider information, or secret that can help turn novices into masters. There is usually a more effective, an easier, and simpler way to do just about everything. And so it is with life, love, and relationships. If only we had that information when we needed it. The aim of Ultimate Self is to promote success in all areas of life for if we have a shortfall or problem in one area we are unlikely to achieve full personal growth. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Health. Without good health most other things are academic, yet so many of us abuse our bodies or take them for granted. Our modern lifestyle can also be a health hazard. But with awareness and knowledge we can maximize our physical wellbeing.
  • Wealth. We need financial security and career success, or at least job satisfaction, to be happy. Not having enough money, or a satisfying occupation can be serious impediments to fulfillment and personal development. This site includes information on how to use money effectively, how to make it and keep it and how to find the right job or advance a career.
  • Human nature. Human beings are complex creatures, often wonderful but sometimes perverse and sometimes destructive. Along with all our good qualities there is a dark side to the human make-up. Although each of us is unique, we all share certain basic characteristics that have evolved with us and become hardwired (such as egotism, aggression, competitiveness, and tribalism). Knowing what these are can help us control them in ourselves and predict or forgive them in others.
  • Self-knowledge.While Ultimate Self offers incites into our social life it also focuses on our solitary life - our relationship with our self, the most important relationship in our life. Most of us are so preoccupied that we operate on autopilot. Logic often has nothing to do with our actions so that we remain trapped in ineffective behaviour patterns that are often not in our best interests. We often don’t know why we do what we do because we are driven by unrecognized impulses, preoccupations and emotions. Ultimate Self explains how to overcome self-limiting attitudes and beliefs. It examines unhealthy thought patterns, unrecognized motives, needs, drives, desires and fears. It explains how we become the person we are.
  • Relationships. It is not possible for individuals to meet all their own needs. To develop our individual potential we need close, supportive relationships. The greatest pleasure but also the greatest pain and distress in life comes from our association with other people. We need each other but we confuse, disappoint and hurt each other. Ultimate Self explains much seemingly inexplicable and confusing behaviour, identifies people who are detrimental to our wellbeing, and offers information on developing and maintaining healthy and fulfilling relationships.
  • Strategies for overcoming specific obstacles. There are many roadblocks in the path to becoming our ultimate self, such as shyness, faulty thought patterns, depression, etc and this site offers advice on dealing with them.
  • Toward growth. To reach our potential we need to develop such things as maturity, motivation, serenity, self-esteem, healthy boundaries, clear thinking, creativity, autonomy and much more.
